Summary

Support the NIH-funded research on neural mechanisms linking sensory processing, behavior, and memory, in the Laboratory of Dr. Gideon Rothschild, the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan. Responsible for i) Designing and carrying out electrophysiological recording experiments in freely moving rodents ii) Preprocessing and analyzing the data and iii) Guiding and training other research personnel in the laboratory.

Responsibilities*

• Design and perform electrophysiological recording experiments in full cohorts of freely moving rodents.
• Carry out rigorous preprocessing of the data derived from the experiments, preparing them for computational analyses. Carry out analyses as time permits.
• Assist and supervise team members of the lab in the above techniques, which includes Research Assistants and students.

Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience or related field with a minimum of 4 years experience as a postdoctoral fellow; extensive experience in electrophysiological recordings in behaving animals.

Desired Qualifications*

• PhD in Neuroscience or 8 years of post-degree laboratory research experience
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, writing, and computing skills

Additional Information

The salary range is $59,000 - $ 74,000. Please note a higher salary may be offered based on equity and the selected candidate’s experience.

This is a term-limited position with an anticipated start date is December 1st, 2023. This position is expected to end on August 1st, 2024, with a possibly of renewal.
